SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Inspector ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirement, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
•Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems.
•Recommend methods of assembly, welding, and production.
•Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part, finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
•Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit, blast profile, and appearance.
•Perform tests including hardness testing, air testing welds, and magna-flux testing.
•Route product for re-work.
•Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
•Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received.
•Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation.
•Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards. •Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
•Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. •Make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
•Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
•Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS •Requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of related manufacturing experience; or five years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Requires additional in-house training on special areas as appropriate. •Proficiency with Microsoft software. •Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings. •Experience with using tape measure and calipers. •Strong verbal and written communication skills. •Physical Requirements include: Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 50 pounds.
